Event Recap: Annual “Turn Up The Heat” Gala Raises Funds For Ovarian Cancer Research

This past February, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) celebrated the 10th Anniversary of it’s annual event, The Turn Up The Heat! Gala. Area philanthropists, friends, and supporters gathered at The Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC for an unforgettable night of food, friendship, and festivities.

Guests of the gala enjoyed silent and live auctions, as well as tastings from more than 60 of Washington, DC’s top female chefs. Following the delicious spread of culinary samples, cocktails, and conversation; guests filtered into the main hall where the tables were set up beautifully for the dinner program. Hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Tommy McFly, Kelly Collis & Jen Richer (Co-hosts of “The Tommy Show” 94.7 FRESH FM). Within minutes, our MC’s launched straight into the much anticipated live auction, with 6 cases of Virginia Wines going to one lucky bidder to kick off the evening. Guests also ‘turned up the heat’ at dinner with our Power Pressure Cooker centerpieces courtesy of Life Fusion Brands.

Turn Up the Heat is an important fundraiser for the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and their work on behalf of ovarian cancer survivors. The evening raised upwards of $2 million dollars, which allows OCNA to continue to educate and serve ovarian cancer patients, survivors and caregivers, as well as the thousands whose lives will be touched by ovarian cancer every year.
